Feed Description: My thoughts on Java, software development and technology.
One year on from it's first demo and Project Rave (now known as Creator) has been released. The demo this year worked a treat and it looks like a really polished product. There was an interesting comment about how Creator is built on top of a tried and tested development environment (i.e. NetBeans) and how other tools aren't. I couldn't work out if they were trying to imply something about Eclipse et al.
The other cool announcement about Creator is that it's free and this is a great way for Sun to try and attack the "corporate developer" market that tools like Visual Basic have such a hold over. For $99 ($49.95 for conference attendees) you can get a subscription to a whole bunch of extra stuff about Creator including code samples, docs, tips, code, etc.
