So after leaving the welcome reception, we headed over to the Thirsty Bear to hook up with the Struts meetup. Unfortunately we somehow missed those guys and strayed into the O'Reilly gathering that was taking place upstairs. There was a private party sign, but I thought that it was for the Struts party! It actually turned out to be a pretty good evening in the end and we met a load of the O'Reilly authors and Daniel Steinberg (from java.net) who I'm working with on some stuff at the moment. James Strachan was also there, as were the Atlassian guys.
We did eventually bump into the Struts meetup (we were on the way back to the hotel) but only Don and Matt were left so we had a beer with them. I feel rough today.
