Simon and I are presenting 2 Birds-of-a-Feather sessions at JavaOne this year. Details of the first of these are here on Simons blog, details of the second one (BOF-2058) are below:
Experiences with Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition Development on Mac OS X
The Mac OS X platform is gaining ground with developers because of its stable UNIX system-based architecture, easy-to-use user interface, and integrated Java runtime environment. This session discusses experiences of J2EE technology development on Mac OS X, and explores the advantages and disadvantages of adopting the platform. The session also demonstrates some of the open source and commercial development tools that the speakers use on a regular basis, revealing any "gotchas" that have been encountered along the way.
The BOF takes place on Wednesday at 10:30 PM in Golden Gate #3. Come along and hear our experiences, and share yours with us!
(If you are at JavaOne and are at a loose end, feel free to drop me a mail and we'll have a beer or 2!)
