Feed Description: Welcome to my blog. I am a total Java geek that lives in Milwaukee, making my living as an architect/developer, spending all my time with Java, J2EE, OO, Linux, and open source. In my spare time, when I am not in front of my computers, I spend every other minute with my other loves: My wife, books, music, guitars, Formula-1 racing and StarGate. Cedric has a great blog entry entitled 'Does this container make me look fat?'. In his blog entry, Cedric points out how he is getting tired of hearing the word lightweight assigned to any new piece of software.
I guess Lightweight is the new must-use buzzword for 2004. I'm guessing with the emergence of lightweight, we are putting Agile to bed.
Like Cedric, I am a big fan of EJBs (entity beans excluded). But I am really excited to see these new technologies emerge and challenge the status quo. I blogged about this earlier and I see huge value in things like spring, Hibernate and other tools and frameworks. But let’s wait to see if they save the world before we anoint them as our saviors.
