Fellow Chicago-area software guys BurningDoor have launched a weblog syndication intermediary called FeedBurner. The idea is that FeedBurner provides various enhancements on top of a baseline weblog feed, e.g., caching and reliability, content enhancement (like auto-adding affiliate IDs to Amazon.com links), detailed usage statistics, making feeds mobile device friendly, etc.Hopefully, something to deal with referrer and comment spam will be on their near-term feature list as well.
