Speaking of free, make sure to download 400 WebApp-Emp Application - Version: 1.0, a web app that integrates JDO and Struts.
I sure am glad I got into JDO at the time I did.
We are using Kodo JDO (as opposed to EJBs or Hibernate) here at my current company and knowing JDO helped me land the job.
