At university there seemed a distinct split between programmers that tended to tackle the hard parts of a problem first and programmers that tended to start with the easiest parts. TDD's test-first, test-driven approach (or at least, the way it tends to be explained and promoted) now strikes me as most suited and most beneficial for those of the "easiest first" mindset. I worry that we're unnecessarily dismissing and discouraging those whose natural approach is "hardest first".
