The Make the Future Java program is an initiative to encourage the Java community to embrace the next generation of developers to learn about Java and the opportunities it brings.

It offers resources and toolkits (a DVD with Java branded stickers, postcards and poster) to help make learning Java more fun. The resources fall into different age groups:

• 8 - 11 yr olds - A visual 3D educational tool called Alice for creating animations.
• 11-15 yr olds - Greenfoot, a visual 2D tool to create games and simulations
• 15-18 yr olds - A simplified Java development tool called BlueJ.
• 17+. - Tutorials for creating Java applications using NetBeans.
