Duke Fighter Pilot The Duke's Choice Award Winners 2011 have been announced. These awards were looking for the ten most innovative projects using a Java technology. The winners are:

  • Arquillian Project - provides a test harness for developers to create integration tests for their Java applications. Arquillian manages all aspects of application testing done in an embedded or remote container.
  • dooApp - Infiltrea measures and reports on a building's airtightness.
  • Inductive Automation - Ignition is an industrial application server used to create automated software for manufacturers. 
  • jHome - an open source home automation API for controlling wall jackets and other electronic devices.
  • JFrog - Artifactory is a repository manager.
  • JRebel - a JVM-plugin allowing developers to instantly see code changes to an application without redeploying.
  • LMAX - Disruptor is a concurrent programming framework.
  • Rockwell Automation - Human machine interface (HMI) applications for monitoring and managing production systems.
  • Sodbeans Project - Sodbeans is a NetBeans module aimed to make programming easier for the blind.
  • The Netty Project - A network applications framework for developing protocol servers and clients.
