There's good news on the JDK 7 front with Mark Reinhold, Chief Architect of the Java Platform, announcing the project has reached the feature complete stage.

This means (almost all) the planned features have been implemented and after a barrage of testing there should be a developer build available to download. Looking at the milestone schedule the Developer Preview should be completed around the 17th February.

The final release of JDK 7 is expected to be available at the end of July 2011.
