2010 was an interesting year for Java with Oracle's acquistion of Sun for a few billion dollars in January, the revision of JDK 7 into two releases, the shift in direction for JavaFX, and the announcement of the OpenJDK project for Mac OS X.

Hopefully, 2011 will see a steady progression for the Java platform with the release of JDK 7 and Java FX v2.0 towards the latter part of the year.
