Recent Java Champion inductee Josh Marinacci has announced his newest project, Leonardo, on his design blog. His aim is to create a free, open-source, cross platform drawing application.
Leonardo is written in Java and designed for creating UI mockups, presentations and sketches. The hope is that one day the application can take full advantage of the Internet. Designers could download online images for a presentation, share their designs with an online community or even pool design components.
The application hasn't made it to an official release just yet but the daily builds (and source) are available for download at the Leonardo website.
