Another big milestone for Hazelcast, in-memory data grid for Java. The most requested feature of Hazelcast was persistence. Now we have a 1.7 release candidate with persistence and it is available for download here. Documentation explain how you can persist your distributed map entries and how your map entries can be loaded from a persistent datastore. As always, it is super simple.

In addition to the persistence, 1.7 contains encryption support. Entire socket level communication can be encrypted. See the docs for details.
