I really enjoy working on my PowerBook, but sometimes I wonder how APple stays in business. They have the worst order fulfillment of any major business I have ever dealt with -- including ones already out of business and selling off their equipment. Aside from the hell I have gone through trying to order things directly from Apple, paying for expidited delivery, being told things will go out in 1-3 days and having that turn into 1-4 weeks every time then be shipped "overnight" and have it take 6-7 days in transit...
Expecting to find a tracking number and get my power supply this morning I find neither, call Apple, and discover that for some reason it may not have gone out yesterday, or it may have, but they don't know, but either way "it should definately ship today" which is hilarious as I have heard that on almost every call I have placed to them. Airborne Express, who they ship through, is at least capable of tracking items in their system so I am aware that Apple has two packages being delivered to my area today... but neither one is to me.
Apple -- if you want to compete with profitable companies you need to actually get your product into the hands of your customers when they buy it. I love working on my PowerBook, and if purchases were based solely on technical merit, price, etc I would buy another and recommend it wholeheartedly. I won't buy another, and cannot recomend it as the service and generaly orderliness of the business around them is a shambles. Consider letting Amazon handle distribution for you, please.
