I am one of the ones that hates the standard way people design iPhone apps with that boring 4 button menu bar and etc. I basically do not believe its living up to its full potential as an app on a touch screen mobile device. This an exploration of a different design theme:

Notice we have fling-able app screens and a nice small thumbnail icons of the app screens as a sub menu that contextually appears when we drag screens. To extend the theme further you would use panels in each page of the app that are movable within that page.
