I am debating on writing an essay titled What If the VCs are wrong. Debating it because parts and bits were already written but that took some hours in time and its going to to take double or tripple in time to finish it. Debating it because I know some Vcs and Start Up founders and think on this set of issues that they might be wrong.
Also debating it because its the type of essay that Jason Calacanis or Michael Arrington or Steve Gillmor would write. Basic underlying thesis that VCs are wrong so now where do you find a revenue stream to fund a long term service start up that web 2 and mobile2/3 start ups tend to be in at this time.
The essay could obviously be retitled as saving Silicon Valley and the World One Start Up at time. Please understand that the most successful time in VC history as far as return on investment was the mid 1970s to early 1980s and the VC mechanism has been going downhill ever since. We both as Vcs, Start Ups and etc need to f'ing wake up from the hibernation.
If I write in the right way it will piss off a lot of people and it will invite the same spitting and etc that Michael Arrignton has received in the past as I do not see any better way to write it to get the correct message to start ups without pissing off VCs. Thus, will put the essay on back burner and if I get the editors that I want to edit this essay than you might see it in finished form.
