I have been thinking about how one might enable web widgets on Android.  Yes, w3c web widgets probably will not be until 2010. But what if you wanted to do something less w3c-ish now?

You could not initialize the webview in the widget at device bootup because you only have 5 seconds for widget to get initialized before having to return.  But, what if you did a dummy view and than replaced that later with the webview? That might work.
