QuickConnect Framework provides a way to access device functions in webview using javascript for both iPhone and Android and soon to be Linux, Symbian, and Palm Pre. This is a video of of one of the examples showing reading GPS:
Because its more planned out with the features of accessing GPS, Accelerometer,SQlite3, and etc it will help me speed up Xspot development rather than get side tracked and distracted on such framework efforts. There is aso an added bonus of since the project lead of QuickConnect started with iPhone first all the webkit fancy css tricks are in fact viewable in the QuickConnect iPhone and QuickConnect Android examples.
One thing you need to watch is make sure you import all the javascript and java files required as the Eclipse Android plugin does not have a good import Android proejct feature and thus you might make a mistake the first time and miss a file doing a file import into a new Android project.
