The only minor hiccup that I notice since running screaming from the Eclipse Update mess is that the NetBeans installer will default to the /usr/local install dir if you already have a verions installed such as Ubutnu 8.10. You should instead uninstall that NetBeasn version and than launch the installer again as you need or rather should have NetBeans in your user home directory and the instalelr wil default to that once the preinstalled version is gone.
Not bad, change few build scripts and productive right away, cool.
