When I stated that you need to write a small amount of native code to do web UI based apps to access gps and etc I must have been asleep because its wrong. On Android and iPhone there is unofficial support of Google Gears in both browsers. That means folks that such features as gps and etc is already exposed via java script to make Google Gears work. Thus no need for native code.
Business model wise your app can be on the platforms of Android, iPhone, and Blackberry with no code re-writing. Right now that is platform #1, #2, and #3 in sales figures and popularity.
