The only good thing about a crashing financial economy that will persist for the next 36 months is tha tit gets rid of all that old mobile agenda bullshit and the players that shovel such bull shit. I am not just referring to the Mobile Operators attempted monopoly on LBS data sharing among consumers and etc but al the inefficient supporters of suhc bad strategies.

The same old Private Equity players that supported the old way are either going out of business or being forced to adopt to the new way of doing things via the success of both Apple's iPhone store concept and the new 1 million devices success in not even 45 days yet Android devices. Over the next 36 months as the financial crisis continues to play out those doing it the old way are going to get cleared out of the market place.

Some Mobile operators will get bought out due to their failure to change, for example Sprint. Those in the application implementation side, the business efforts to find more fragmented sales channels to fix it will not work as they increase th fragmentation in face of the solid competition from Apple Store and Android market place to reduce fragmentation in the sales channels.

In the upcoming 36 months there will be 50% less handset models as the iPhone and Android have precipitated a move towards device being commodities and the application becoming the selling point as Steve Jobs predicted. As both iPhone and Android force their way into other bastions of Mobile Operator lock-outs and Monopolies such as CDMA.

Those mobile start ups that reduce costs to deal with these new realties will survive and those that do not will not.
