SH..do not tell anyone. I am using archive manager to extract new GoogleGadget.gg files nd installing them on Ubuntu Linux to use. Its a secret and you are not suppose to know, so keep quiet. Pictures soon..The benefits seem ot be that they are up to date and more of them are working than gDesklets, Desklets, and Screenlets.
Before you take my word, look in the usr/share/google-gadgets directory and examine a folder of one of the gadgets. You will notice that they match exactly with the ones you downloaded after you opened them in archive manager. Thus basically you are moving them to the directory location and setting proper permissions.
