This Register article, titled "Build a 14.5 watt data center in a shoebox", is kind of interesting. ignoring the obvious in that the cooling will be a little bigger than the shoebox. For the size of a small desk you cold put in the power of a small data center. It certainly could make nice hardware for small database clusters.
