Most facebook application development efforts are somewhat resource constrained when they start out and thus the LAMP choice for development. The best Linux Distro I see for this purpose is Ubuntu. Not that I have anything against CentOS or Red hat is just I believe Ubuntu's ease of use is higher than CentOS and Red Hat.
