I have a number of projects that have either been on the back-burner or slowly simmering that I‘m working on so I thought I‘d update you all on them.
Chama
Chama is/will be a Web application generator very much in the style of Rails scaffolding, but with a focus on generating the scaffolding for CRUD in Tapestry (along with Hibernate and Spring). Right now it is targeting Tapestry 4, but since I am going to start working in 5 I will be adding this target shortly. Chama is very DSL heavy with two primary DSLs, one for the Model and one for the View/Controller.
An alpha release of Chama will be coming down the pipe in about a month or so that people can play with, rip apart and comment on.
Tassel
I‘ve been accepted as a commiter on the Tassel to help Robert upgrade Tassel to Tapestry 5. I really look forward to this as I have a lot of ideas on how Tassel could be improved (and then launched to TapestryComponents.org for the community to take advantage of). This is one of the things that I would love to see the community get behind and I think with this relaunch it will be.
Events Calendar (the red — headed step — child)
My app for Tapestry 101 has kind of sat, languishing, while I went off and did cooler things, but I will be rewriting it from the ground up in Tapestry 5 (as part of a larger app I‘m going to be working on for the next several months), but I want to get Chama done first so that I can use Chama to generate all the admin screens for this new app.
