I know I‘m a little behind on this one but 4.1.2 final and a new 5.0.5 beta have been released.

4.1.2 adds a lot of good stuff (from the TSS announcement):

  • Lots of performance improvements from OGNL 2.7 (now on OpenSymphony, but it looks likes the current release is still MIA)
  • Memory consumption, looks like a lot of work using YourKit has paid off!
  • A New Testing guide
  • Asset caching
  • Dojo and Script.aculo.us integration (new Suggest component uses Script.aculo.us)
  • More Ajax and JSON support

Full release notes here
5.0.5 is the next incremental alpha release (from the Tapestry News):

  • New components, including a file upload component and palette component (for multiple selection)
  • Updated the BeanEditForm and Grid components
  • Client-side property persistence
  • Expansions inside attributes (haven‘t really gotten into expansions yet so I‘m not 100% sure what this really means)

Full release notes here
On a side note I chatted with Howard a couple of weekends ago and he said he was going to start working on adding in the Ajax support to 5 that it so desperately needs. I‘ll have some more info that came out of that conversation shortly.
