I'm currently re-reading Betrand Meyer's book "Object-Oriented Software Construction, 2nd edition", and finding it fascinating for both its explanation of "design by contract" and the more general constrast between Meyer's Eiffel language (as explained in the book) and Java - as well as just an extremely interesting read. But I've no idea how good or bad any of it is in practice, or even whether anyone is actually using Eiffel these days.

Does anyone have any views, opinions or experiences with Eiffel or "design by contract" that they'd like to share?
