With Flashlite 2.x out and Flashlite 3.x coming some First Stage Venture Capital Firms are scrambling to obtain J2me Mobile Developers to flesh out and analyze their start-up projects. The problem is to accurately choose the correct implementation to meet both technical and business goals you are somewhat forced to do a device capabilities database.

Some VC firms want a 1-hour phone call answer and its just not that simple and cannot be over simplified to a one hour phone call analysis. Than you have competing Server Side integration among both Adobe and non Adobe products.

Not to mention that there are ways to reduce costs if we have the right device capabilities data. For example, we can using our J2me experience integrate certain systems and testing to reduce actual devices needed to test content on to 10% of what current flash developers use. Agile and XP methods play a role in this as well as just plain old system analysis.

Of course it would be nice if Bluestreaks Technologies could make a dual license top open source their flashlite implementations so that us developers could re-code it to javaSE to run in a J2ME emulator. This would than ease our pain as the J2ME emulators are already set up to allow us to model CPU speed and other attributes.

Than we have the aspect of certain developer tools not being updated and maintain which than limits our server side technology choices. But than you are doing more development in supply server side components not supplied by that technology implementation.

And thus please First Stage Venture Capitalists understand that the analysis you desire for the pros and cons of technology implementations involving both server side and flashlite on the device side is not an unpaid one hour phone call. Respect us a little for our efforts with cash...
