Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud is totally excellent. In minutes, you can start up any number of virtual machines to your specifications. It is by far the easiest and coolest computing utility around. Over the weekend I spent some time working with it, deploying a multi-machine cluster on the Elastic Compute Cloud using Terracotta in minutes. I've written up the details of my experience here.
