It's true. Panther is faster than Jaguar. I'm not sure that apps necessarily start up quicker, but everything is now much snapper on my 12" PowerBook. Exposé is very fast, and much faster than I had imagined. Opening finder windows is also quicker than before. Probably the biggest change I've noticed is that iPhoto is much quicker. I have over 3Gb of photos in my library and I find that I can easily navigate around them. Oh, and Preview is now incredibly quicker than the version on Jaguar. As you can see from the screenshot below, I have one of the older 12" PowerBooks although I am running 640Mb RAM.

All in all this is a great upgrade.
