it appears that the full JavaEE5 stack will be in place in Apache Geronimo 2.0 as of the M2 release according to this road map. Than Axis 2 and CFX support in beta1 in February.
And of course you have some new non JavaEE5 stuff as well with some Apache Pluto/JetSpeed enhancements, new Apache Tomcat stuff, and etc. With the improvements of using GBeans, the Geronimo-framework, and etc to the class loading horrors and javaEE5 server configurations ASF and IBM should be pushing this as teaching solution in college and university settings say with a nice series of articles and books.
