After some encouragement from David and Ryan, I thought, “what the hell? I’ll fix up the template.”

Hopefully it fits the direction that Ryan (and myself) were looking for.

As a “silly” thing, I added a “mini-blog” in the sidebar. It just pulls the latest three “events” from my twitter status, but I think it’s fun.
