One of the strange patterns I experienced while working for an Indy Domain Name Speculator Start-Up in 2001 was the CEO and 2nd-in-command girlfriend going on vacation several times a year when their work was not even 25% complete. Was very strange at the time until I tracked down when the huge increase in domain name acquisitions occurred.
The start-up did not have a huge collection of domain names until the girlfriend joined the company. This combined with being told that the girlfriend was the 'accounting department' only implies one conclusion, that the girlfriend had to be plied with vacations because she was the finance source for keeping the company afloat.
Usually eye candy cannot build high tech products no matter how many times she might want to believe her boyfriend's illusions of skills in high tech. Considering the lack of grammar and correct paragraph structures in press releases she authored we still do not know what skill she may have to used for the start-up.
And without the skills of building database driven websites the claim of launching 5,000 sites with placeholder pages is worth about zero. Would not the money wasted on boyfriend illusions of high tech website development skills be better spent actually being trained to build database driven websites? At least than the girlfriend would have control of the money being wasted as the new skills would earn revenue to offset the investment in training but than she would be scared of learning that her past choices are wrong.
It gets pretty bad when even the people and companies in Chicago are begging former employees to clean up messes the CEO's girlfriend has created. Of course it is even worse if one has evidence of all the dirty laundry and is called to present that evidence including the over stated 1099s and tax fraud, miss use of a social security number, and etc and she has to sit there and listen to that evidence as she will be forced by force of law to listen and to answer those charges.
Of course payment of debt owed and making an adjusted 1099 to report debt paid as income and to correct previous over stated 1099s might prevent certain paths being traveled by the CEO and his girlfriend.
