While it certainly make sit easier for the developer to have server run-times installed as Eclipse plug-ins there are issues to watch out for in using them. In a multi-user environment where you have a single Eclipse install shared among developers any server run-times directly installed in plug-in folder should be copied to user home directory and proper permissions set, in this case JBoss via Tikal's TUM suites.

In Apache Geronimo's case because the run-time is installed via the plug-in outside the plug-in folder you only have to worry about setting proper permissions fro the developer to start the server. Hopefully, Tikal moves the Jboss install to a more suitable location other than the Eclispe lug-in folder in future updates.
