Well things have changed a bit since my last post. Primarily the title of the book and its focus. The original text I was working on was going to be a "Live" book, SourceBeat has decided to try a new type of book called "101" which is designed to get you up and going quickly. We have decided to transfer what was written for the Tapestry Live book and move it to a Tapestry 101 book.
And now for an update, I haven't been sitting quietly these past few months, chapter 4 is now off to the tech editor and review team and chapters 2 and 3 will be making their way to layout shortly. Since this has become a "101" book the chapter lengths have to kept to around 17/18 pages per chapter and I am keeping the chapters to 7 total for the book. So far that has been the biggest challenge with this format, keeping it simple and to the point. There's so much in Tapestry that I (and my review group, including Howard) want to tell you about but we'll have to save that for another, more in-depth, book.
The current release date that I know about is sometime mid-October which is very doable on my current schedule. If you're interested you can pre-order the book from SourceBeat.
A Table of Contents for the new book will be up shortly and I would love to hear any feedback on it, but remember that I can't cover everything in this due to time consideration. We think that your time is valuable so we want to get in and get out as quickly as possible, showing you the things you need when you need them.
