As you may know the default memory allocated for SUn JVMs is set to 64Megs. IN boht NetBeans and Eclipse IDEs users have been reporting runing out memory errors as they approach this boundry. EclispeZone has a new article describing a new -XX VM Eclipse IDE setting when using Eclipse and Sun JVMs, here. I am sure there is one for NetBeans as well at their site.

Sun is talking about settig the default VM memory for JavaSE 5.7 at 256 megabytes. However, no word as of yet on the default setting for beta 3 version of JavaSE 6.
