And for our FUD this week we have Jacek of MSMOBILES.COM claming that i-MOde deo snto ruin on GSM or that Japan does not have GSM. HUH? Now normally you would expect such pratter from a relatively newcomer who has not spent their time in mobile since what 1999?

Well let us debunk this set of myths. Unlike GSM and CDMA i-mode is not a network protocol. I-Mode is a combination of infrastructure involving hardware and software on the server side that sits on top of a GSM or CDMA network in order to bring certain web fucntionality to mobile networks. Besides the fact that there are in fact 2 GSM providers in Japan, I think maybe Jacek should give up on pretending to know what he is talking about..
