Some time ago, a friend of mine told me that i should check the ASF incubator maillist archive if i want to read malicious gossip. Of course i like that kind of things like every other human being but i have not managed to get there until today. Lets summarize the initial topic:

XFire wants to merge with Celtix and wants to be a child of the ASF with the new merger project CeltiXFire **. Now Dan published the current committers for the proposal to the ASF incubator and of course Hani was also on that list because he committed some pieces to XFire.

Nothing serious so far one could think, but dont forget that hanis blog contains some satirical (of course all entries are satirical in the first place) comments about ASF projects inlcuding tomcat, axis2 and some others. Call me naive but i really believed that people, especially educated people like most IT guys, can handle the bileblog. One dont need too much sense of satirical humor to get the idea behind this blog. Even if your project is "bashed" by the bileblog, you should be able to handle it with that background. But i was wrong.

People like MLaden Turk (Tomcat) and Davanum Srinivas (Axis2) show how much they like Hani by discrediting him in a public maillist. In contrast to the bileblog, this maillist has no satirical background as far as i know.

In contrast i like Jason van Zyl, i think as the maven head his project got biled more than any other project on this planet, nevertheless he can handle the bileblog and can seperate the bileblog from the person behind it.

Anyway, to me some entries in this maillist were more offensive than the bileblog can ever be. But it also showed some details about persons which is very positive like from Jason. Here is the archive link

** i dont know if i like that, but thats a different story
