Feed Description: My thoughts on Java, software development and technology.
As a Mac user, I have the same dislike for Internet Explorer as the next person. However, I accept that we are where we are and we should at least try to accomodate IE as far as possible, particularly since *most* people use it.
Anyway, I've just started using ehcache (which is pretty good, btw) and I wanted to have a scoot through some of the ehcache developer blogs to see what they had to say about it. I'm currently working for a large organisation in the city of London and, for one reason or another, Firefox isn't approved for use. End of story. So, I was quite surprised when I pointed my browser to one of the blogs and got the following.
That's it. Not even a link to get past the "get Firefox" page. This has been around for a while, but by being on a Mac, I've missed it up until now. If you surf over to the Explorer Destroyer website, it explains what it's all about and how you can opt for different levels of annoyance. Morally, I'd love to join the campaign and tell Microsoft that their browser sucks. Realistically, that's not going to happen because I value my readers and their participation in making the blogosphere what it is today. Personally, I don't care what browser you're using and although there are a few issues with my site in IE, I'd rather deliver something than nothing at all. The organisation where I'm working has several hundred Java developers that are forced to use IE. If you're using Explorer Destroyer, you're exluding us from reading your site.
