I'm sitting in the JavaOne keynote on Eclipse Agile practices by Erich Gamma and John Wiegand. It's great stuff so far. It struck me that this is the first time I've seen someone talk about Agile to such a large, "traditional" audience, rather than the self-selecting Agile choir I'm used to.

And while there's absolutely nothing wrong with the self-selecting choir, breaking out into the rest of the world with the same frank and transparent tone and thinking that Agile brings to development is fantastic.

Here's a fun phrase that Erich just used to describe the idea of always creating usable, real build: "continuously consumable." That sounds like a good tag-line or name for a blog...

Another interesting aspect is that there are very few references to The Church of Agile. That is, as it's being presented, these are just common sense things, not the lock-step religion that can drive a good idea into the ground.

But two week cycles?! Come on, man! ;>
