We have got a company fun/group day on Monday. I have to admit these enforced fun days can be a bit tedious but they can also be alot of fun and lets face it, it can't be worse than a day working.

We did a similar thing last year where we went to a snow dome and had a skiing lesson, sledging and then some food. It was quite enjoyable.

I am quite looking forward to this Mondays company adventure, it involves kayaking and then some group challenges. I am not so sure about the group challenges, it depends on what they. I always think back to the McDonald's group outing I read about. In the outing they had to walk across hot coals and hilariously they all got burnt feet (at least they had something in common I suppose).

Whether or not it will bring the company together and improve morale and increase communication etc etc but to be honest it can't hurt it. Of course most the time you spend time with the people you talk to and like at work anyway but in the group work we will probably converse with other unknown people in the company.

I am looking forward to it because the bottom line is, would I rather be kayaking with my work colleges or sitting at my desk with my work colleges. The weather forecast isn't looking to good at the moment so if the worst happens it could be a long wet cold day.
