You might have not played with the settings ye ton Eclipse 3.2RC2. Evidently, if you set the data option to location of the workspace you can get start-up down to about 25 to 35 seconds using a product to launch a profiled configuration from a Launcher product called xdt Eclipse Launcher by Dream Team Software Engineering.

By contrast NetBeans 5.0 on the same exact machine is from 75 seconds to 115 secosnd start-up time.
