I came across UltraMonkey which is Linux based Load Balancing and High Availablity solution. Concept is pretty cool for a software load balnacer.

The "High Capacity Highly Availability and Load Balancing" is what any site can use which wants cost effective load balancer. This configuration uses LVS (Linux Virtual Server) and Linux HA. The configuration is also documented well.

Catch is you will need Debian or Red Hat Enterprise Linux. For freel, you can use RHEL's clone CentOS.

The key features of Ultra Monkey are:
* Fast Load Balancing using The Linux Virtual Server
* Flexible High Availability provided by the Linux-HA framework
* Service level monitoring using ldirectord ldirectord
* Supports Highly Available and/or Load Balanced topologies with worked configuration examples
* Easily expandable to a large number of IP based virtual services using fwmarks
* Pre-built packages for Debian Sarge [offsite] and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 [offsite].
* All Code is Open Source

If any one having more experince with UltraMonkey, kindly leave a comment about do's and don'ts..Thanks!
