Oracle today announced that it has added Berkeley DB to its embedded database product line which includes Oracle Lite for mobile devices and Oracle TimesTen for high performance in-memory database applications.

In his mail, Michael Olson the former President and CEO of Sleepcat and now Vice President of Oracle has assured that they will continue to serve both open source and commercial users. "We plan to continue developing, supporting and selling the entire family of Berkeley DB products, including our XML and Java Editions." he said.
