Obviously, opensourcing Jini under a ASLv2 license definitely was something people were interested in... Many opensource projects are beginning to integrate with Jini technologies, such as Mule (a really powerful ESB) providing a JavaSpace connector, and a new project called Equinox working on a close integration between Jini, Rio and the Spring Framework.
