I've been a bit crook lately, a heavy cold followed by my immune system going crazy. A bit bizarre but what can you do?
I spent most of last week at home bored shitless and it wasn't fun. I mean, c'mon, why would it be fun? Happily, my beautiful wife dragged me away from the house yesterday and we spent an afternoon on the beach down at Mount Martha. To say it was lovely is the understatement of this young year. Calm warm water lapping up against the beach; party pies and sausage rolls. The smell of ambre solaire and the smiling face of Ellie (my youngest daughter) as she made sandcastles.
Today we whizzed down to the back beach (Ocean Beach) at Sorrento for a couple of hours. I jumped around in the waves with Ellie for a bit and felt more alive than I had for quite a while.
We then moved back up the bay and spent a couple of hours at Safety Beach splashing about in the warm shallows, watching the Jetskis zip by. I haven't felt so relaxed since I don't know when.
Yup, I reckon nature has done it's bit to prepare me for work on Monday.
