As I mentioned in too busy to blog, I'm off to JavaPolis next week and I thought that I'd sign up for a quickie. If you've not seen the JavaPolis wiki, quickies are 15 minute sessions that take place in the breaks between the main sessions. My presentation is entitled 15 tips for Java EE Architects where I'll be covering, well, 15 tips in 15 minutes!

Java EE has widespread adoption and systems built upon it now come in many different forms, from simple web applications designed using lightweight frameworks to full service-oriented architectures utilising asynchronous messaging. As an architect, designing Java EE systems can be complex and there are many decisions to be made along the way.

This quickie presents an insight into some of questions that need to be asked and the decisions that need to be made when designing a Java EE system. This session is aimed at aspiring architects who are currently in development roles with a view to becoming involved in their first architecture engagement in the future.

If nothing else, it should be a bit of fun and I've thrown in a few controversial tips to get people thinking. I'll be presenting at 2pm on Thursday in room 4. Drop by and say hello if you're passing!
