Part of the reason why we choose specific implementations of items in J2ME is due to the collecitons problems and overhead using standard colleciotns classes.

But, what if the standard collections classes were rewritten to fix this problem? The library is called Javolution. It is targeted currently for the J2SE and J2ME CLDC platforms. However, it should apply equally as well to the J2ME CDC PersonalJava but I have nto verified this as of yet.

Its 200k in size or smaller and uses xml to serialize and deserialize objects. There is alos an Eclispe plugin to generate the XML formats required for this library. Added benefits is the ability to transfer XMl objects over the network in a faster fashion.
