Since I'm still stuck here not flying like I should be, I thought I would mention that tonight is the first meeting AustinRails group. I'll be in Chicago tonight, so I can't make it to the Austin meeting, but I'd encourage anyone who is interested to give it a spin. I know Damon (from AustinJUG) and Rob (we did prison time at the Z a few years back), so I know the group has some solid direction and will be worth going to.

While I'm not sold on Rails from a technology perspective nor do I find it terribly interesting as a platform for real work, it does have some great ideas and is well worth some investigation if you want to get a bigger picture of web development possibilities. (and, anything that promotes Ruby can't be that bad of a thing) If you are in town, I suggest checking it out.
