Some of you know of the isometric and 2d mapping tools such as Tile Studio or Mappy. Do you know that there is a java version that targets jdk1.1 and thus is able to be used in J2ME MIDP? Its called JavaMappy.

On the website it has a J2ME section to indicate what classes to eliminate to get it work in j2ME. Seems the 2.2.0 version applies to MIDP 2.0. It also contins special Nokia renderers to deal with Nokia special classes. Part of the speed in the library is due to use of arrays instead of Lists.

Make sure to follow the J2ME directions here.
